Travel Agents are paid by Tour Operators, Hotels, and other travel suppliers after you travel.  Some Travel Agents charge a "plan to go deposit." When you book, it goes toward your final balance, and some charge a "consulting fee."  Any fees are always disclosed upfront.  Time is money, destination knowledge is power, and peace of mind is priceless.
